Default HID dilemma *update*

So I wanted everyones opinion. I currently have a 35w 8000k HID kit from American Muscle and a 35w 8000k HID kit from VVME. I have gotten used to the brightness lately and want a change. What I was wondering is, should I get some 55w replacement ballasts for my headlights and switch the slim digital ballasts to my fog lights or should I buy some lower k headlight replacement bulbs which should be a little bringer also. I don't mind the blue color that 8000k puts off but sometimes wish I went with 6000k.

the closer you get to 4500k (i think it is) the brighter the lights seem because the light is more usable to the human eye. so just swapping bulbs will give you better looking lighting. if you can find the 55w kit for cheap enuff and you wanna do it then go for it. you can re-sell one of the 35k kits and offset some cost. its gonna cost you 40 bucks for bulbs anyways.

That's true, I can get a new slim digital 55w 6000k kit for about $80. I was trying to avoid buying a whole new kit, but it is an option.

A 55W 6000k will look like 5k.. That would be pretty ideal for lighting up the road...

I would do it.. Our headlights could use the extra output, especially smoked clean corners. Just make sure they aren't aimed at everyone and you'll be good to go!!!

I would still like to avoid buying a whole new kit if possible. I was just wondering if yall thought I should upgrade my 8000k kit to 55w or put 6000k bulbs in my 35w kit. I'm leaning towards just getting some 6000k replacement bulbs and calling it a day. I think im just getting tired of them being so blue.

well you could get the 55w ballast and use your 8k's, the 55w ballast will wash some of the color out. Or just get 5k 6k bulbs. i recently changed my 6ks out for 5ks. After a year the blueishness was just getting old with me. Bulbs are like 15bucks for single beams plus shipping from DDM. But honestly this is the way to go...(waits for photobucket)

I would love to retrofit some projectors in the stang. I am looking for a new job and plan on getting a more family appropriate car in the next year or two so I'm trying to not throw too much money into the car anymore. Projectors are a must on whatever car I end up getting.
