Default What's the consensus on buying used gears?

Why do some people say "I would never buy used gears" and others say that is fine?

What do i have to look out for if i were to buy used gears?

I could buy used gears for around 75, or i can get the same exact ones new for $142.... I dont see why i wouldnt save myself some money...

Opinions?

well they are only 75 so it is what it is, but for brand new ones they are only 70 bux more... its not ike you are saving a few hundred dollars. either way you win imo. if the used ones dont work out then you are out 75 bux... no big loss either way

Yeah. I mean if i can save an extra $70, i have mach 1 rear brakes that i was going to buy for $100 for the whole set-up so i can just buy more things ya know? The 70 that i save can go toward the rear brakes or some SS lines up front for when i get the cobra conversion up front.

an extra 70 wont kill me, but i can do more things with 70 than you think :P

Idk.. school is f*ckin up my income right now. I need summer.

I have seen NIB gears going from $100-120 but they are rare and go fast. Cheapest I have seen is $139.99 shipped from buyfordracing.com

Thanks for the pricing, as i haven't really shopped around for the best pricing on gears. But those are for the 4.10's. I am gettting 3.73's and $142 is the cheapest i have found from a group buy on my local forum...

Yeah that's right guys, i said i am getting 3.73's. Keep hatinnnnnnnnn'

Got my 4.10 used and installed for 150 bucks. Ten thousand miles later no issues.

Thanks for posting that! However i get really stressed buying from people. Especially people with 10 posts lol. Idk i just dont trust ebay sometimes. I have done it before, but i got screwed once and that was enough for me to get mad about lol.
