Default studdering/shaking through all gears/RPM

I have a 2000 Mustang GT Automatic with 100,250 miles on it.
Out of no where, it started giving me problems.

-Studdering/shaking through all gears/RPM/speeds.
-At idle, it shakes and misses idle like its about to die.

The cars check engine light just came on too. But I don't have a OBD to read the codes

Any ideas?

Sounds like it may be running rich. If your O2 sensor failed, it can cause symptoms like this. Go to an Autozone or an Oriely's, they can pull the codes for free.

I was under the impression the 02 sensors can't change the A/F ratio on these cars.

Yeah, they can. Mine failed and it was running like utter ****. Code was fuel system too lean bank 1 sensor 1. To compensate it dumped a crapload of fuel into the system. Started getting 100 miles to a tank, MAJOR fuel smell and smoke. Changed the O2 sensor and it fixed it.

I don't know about Oreilys. But AutoZone, no longer does free system checks, I called yesterday and tried to get mine done. The time I need AutoZone the most they aren't there.
