I used to have them on my Mach but took them off when I got new side skirts. Sort of hard to see in this pic I guess.

haha

I originally bought them to keep my rear bumper clean of rubber at the drags.

The mud flap ended up being about 5 inches too thick. You could see half the tire was not even effected by the flap because of its width.

or

neither will harm the paint, and both come right off -- blocks all rubber

This thread is full of fail. If you want something to keep rubber from getting on the bumper behind the wheels, just get some clear plastic and cut it to cover the entire width of the wheel, then bolt them on when you get to the track and take them off when you drive home. Mudflaps are hideous and shoud never be on any mustang at all. My buddy just started making carbon fiber mudflap things for the s197's and he put a set on his car and they look pretty clean, just because they dont come out far at all and arent gaudy. I typed a lot for a response to a thread full of fail. lol

ive never seen mudflaps on a stang before, only on the S197 GT 500 and didnt think they looked bad, after seeing the pic of the mach with em im not too thrilled with them...especially if they arent doing their job due to tire width...ive decided against trying em, ill keep a roll of painters tape and a towel in my car instead, lol...vaseline works too? havent heard that one, isnt it kinda hard to get the vaseline off though??
