17s...paying for 18 inch tires sucks *****..there arent any cheep ones at all. if you can make yourself happy with 17s do it. average for the back tires about 350 a peice and fronts from 250 to 350.... basically you cant get good tires on 18s for less then 1000bucks, more like 1500 and in my case i got T1Rs and it cost me aournd 1600 in rubber, and thats not an expensive tire.
Agree I just spent ton for 275/18 and 285/18 tires , I could have picked up 4 17 inch NT05's for way less lol. Owell , 18 inch wheels are sexy.
Note: For owners of 1994-2004 Mustangs that still want to do 17x9 in the front and 18x10 in the rear, the tire sizes you need will be as follows:
17x9: 275/40-17 or 245/45-17 (depending on the year of your car)
18x10: 305/35-18
Good info but I would suggest 295/35/18 if you want more choices for tires. 305/35's only come in dr's.
Im going with Nitto NT555RII's. They are the same tread pattern but they actually have a sidewall and they go for $280 a piece and are 305-35-18's. Installed they will be around $300 a tire. Not too hateful for an R compound tire.
Well for me i cant go below 305 for my wheels cus they are 10.5 rear width and 295's are too narrow. So 305 35 18's for me. lol The sidewall will look better too.
