Question 90k miles what can i do for hp?

I have a 01' mustang gt and I want to get more hp out of it. My only problem is the motor has just under 90k. The motor runs very strong and has always been taken care of. I would like a supercharger but afraid that might do to much wear and tear. Thought about a chip but I want other opinions as what would be best. The car will soon be making 8 hour trips from my duty station to home so keep that in mind. Thanks for all the help. John

I think i speak for just about every 96-04 mustang owner here when i say skip the bolt-ons and go right into supercharging it. Go with a centri blower keep it out of boost unless you want it in boost. Bolt ons are expensive and don't net you much gain at all. I will never understand why people think 90k is alot of miles, you've got another 100k to go atleast. Throw some boost at it and have fun.

theres a guy on here that has 135k miles with a procharger running 9lbs of boost. he's had it on there for a longgg time too. i say go vortech or procharger, get it intercooled and have fun. boost wont start unill like 3000 so it will be like stock under 3000rpms

I would love the pro charger kit. It has everything with it, like this:

Blower or nitrous. 90K is the new 30.

^ agreed, my 99 has 11psi and 84k, although it cracked 3 pistons, that was from too much boost and bad tune.

Stay around 8psi non intercooled, or around 11 intercooled and make sure you do the fuel system(injectors/pump) along with maf and a good tune you should be fine!

Whatever you do make sure you have a good tune. On stockish power your car can handle a little detonation. But the ring lands on the stock pistons can crack the first time you get a bad knock on boost or nitrous.

It's better to have a car that has a tune on the safer side than trying to squeak every last hp out of a tune and being right on the edge of blowing your motor.

As long as the car is in good running condition, and you have it tuned, you'll be fine with a basic blower set up.

BTW, where abouts in MI are you from?
