I've passed smog with my slp catted x, you should be fine, just do a quick tuneup and heat the engine/cats up real good before you go in.

Z28KLR, yours wouldnt fit, nor would it pass for him because 98 GT's came with 6 cats, not 4 like our cars. So yours wouldnt work anyways. And the aftermarkets would work for the sniffer, but for the visual, you'd need to find a nice guy to pass ya.

Like stated above, visual you will fail if the tech knows what he is looking at. Sniff test may or may not pass. Some aftermarket midpipes will pass, but when you are talking about a few parts per million it doesn't take much to fail at all.

Do you have a good tuner in your area? If so just have him write you a smog tune and you'll pass for sure.

Anyone got any hookups close to the Inland Empire area?

I was afraid that I was probably screwed without the original. I think that I may have found one for sale close to me from a blown engine car. Hate to buy something like this used but if I only need it once every two years I'm not too worried. Thanks for all the feedback cause when it comes to mustangs I'm brand new.
