My 04 weighs 3175lbs???
So when i was picking up my last slip from the track yesterday, I figured I'd stop by the scale and see how heavy the 2004 is. Surprisingly it was a lot lighter than I thought. It weighed in at 3175lbs. There is no weight reduction except removing the spare and jack. I'm sure the new Draglite wheels are helping a bit too. The rest of the car is still all there with all the factory stuff.
Anyone else have their car weighed?

Wanna shed some light on how I could shed some weight off my bucket? I'd like to see this baby around 3,000lbs. If you could get a vert down to 3,100 it sounds reasonable. The normal stuff will be coming out like rear seat, spare, jack, blocks behind the wheels, but what else can I scrap that won't make me look all fast and furious without an interior at the track?

Yeah, I just started back up. It's like a true smoker...they never quit for good! I was super sad to see you're thinking of selling the stang. I hope you can come up with some cash soon and get that trans fixed. i would hate to see you let it go for that cheap. I'm currently thinking of ways to scrape cash together in case the the trans doesn't work out. It would be a shame to see that car go to some dumba$$ HS kid.

Selling a handmade, solid top classical guitar imported from Spain FTW.
And if you want to get rid of weight, start looking at getting rid of crap you don't need. When it was in race trim, there was no AC, no top (literally, the top was removed, all the hydraulics, etc), no stereo, and all the foam insulation was removed.
If you don't mind alot of sound, I would get rid of the insulation under the carpets. You can keep the carpet, just put it back down after you remove all the insulation. You kind of have to burn some stuff off, literally.

Nice........ guitar < 10-11sec mustang!!!!!! Good choice my friend!!!
For a few pounds I think I'll keep my insulation. Looking at a battery relocation which wont reduce weight, but will get it off the front end. Looks like most of your weight loss was probly not having that whole "roof" thing on your car lol
I'm gonna try to figure out a better alternative to my stock front seats too. The driver seat weighs so damn much with all the power crap!!

If youre at 3175 now, just removal of the back seat and the spare stuff and dont forget the wishbone on the rear end of the vehicle. quad shocks, upr k member and all that stuff would get you down there.
