I see the point.. im just saying there is no reason a set of heads should cost that much.

Just wait... the R version will come out sometime this summer and all the people who bought the trickflow heads right now and have F/I will sell the heads for dirt cheap to get the new R version. There is where many of us who cannot afford 2K heads will find them at awesome prices.

once the new 4v 5.0s come out im hoping the modular 4.6 market will go the way of the pushrod 5.0 in terms of prices.. they want outrageous sums of money for this ****.. its no more complex than any other motor parts lol.

Well technically the new 5.0 is smaller than the 4.6L 4v externally and is a "drop in" engine swap to our cars.

So that means new motor choice for us??? What are the specs for bore/stroke for the 5.0 compared to the 4.6??? shorter stroke/bigger bore??? i wish the raptor 6.2L was a direct swap for our cars...that'd be nuts because you can bore that mother out like crazy to like 8.0L or something like that from what i've heard.

Yes new motor choice. And a DA*N good one too. Due to the design of a completely new block, there is NO room for any bore. The structural integrity will be completely compromised if bored out causing a cracked block. Stroking this engine might not do much like to our 4.6L engines but who knows...

So the 5.0 is at its max bore wise...how big is the bore??? Is it big enough to make it a better motor than the 4.6??? The reason why im asking is because i dont know very much about the new 5.0 and i'd like to learn more but i cant find much. Why is it better???

Pretty much. How big I do not remember but the new 5.0 Mag IIRC released the specs. Yes this is big enough to make it the best motor by far. What makes it better is the design of the engine. It was designed for complete efficiency. This engine appears to have a redline of over 7K !!! The bigger bore will allow the engine to not need a long stroke to make the same power. This engine can be stroked but who knows how well that will work. I wouldn't do it though. This engine also has the 4v heads but these aren't the regular mach 1 or cobra heads that we are used to. They took the 3v design and integrated it with the 4v. You wonder why the 3v performed as well as the older 4v heads? It was due to the valve angle design. These valves are almost going in at a 90 degree angle like the 3 valves did. They do not come at an angle. These heads at one point in the power band see over 110% VE!!!!
