Default Car with replaced engine

Looking at a car with a replaced engine for $7000
http://lansing.craigslist.org/cto/1655578062.html

Still kind of noob when it comes to cars so not sure how big of a deal this is. Just want to make sure when I buy one I get my moneys worth.

Not that bad of a deal. Though for a tad bit more i think you can get a overall better ride between $9-10 thousand. Personally, I'd go ask if he'd take $6250 and let him come back with somewhere around or less than $6500. I think that would be a fair deal for both parties.

$7000 is too much. New motor or not.

I emailed him to setup a time to take a look at it so I'll see how much he'll come down.

Yea... thats smart. I mean it looks clean in such but ya never can be quite sure until you see it in person. Like I said earlier i personally wouldn't give a penny over $6499 which still might be a bit high. If you could get it for 6200-6300 that might be worth the money if the car's title, documents, and service/repair history checkout. Then wouldn't be all so bad. But check over the undercarage and look at his documentation with the engine swap. Take a test drive, check the oil, all that stuff. Just making sure that its all on the up and up and he's not trying to bandaid up/ pass off his cars issues to the next owner. Good Luck
