Default 75mm or 70mm

I just got fnished reading the sticky about tb/plenum. The OP states that it's okay to get a 75mm even if your not running forced induction. But I've also readthat some people say you can lose power cause it's too big. I do plan on superharging eventually but right now I'm exhausting most of the bolt on options and I need the tb/plenum combo. Would it be okay for now to get the 75mm or would it be better to stay with 70mm and wait till it's actually superchraged?

And I know, if I would have just saved all that money I spent I could probably have a supercharger right now.

i was worried about that too when i was looking to buy one, i ended up finding a used BBK 75mm and picked it up. ive had great results with it and im just a bolt on car. id say you can rest easy with either one. but if you have plans of supercharging might as well get a 75 and not have to worry about getting a new one down the road.

If you are only planning on being a bolt on car forever get the 70mm. I suppose if you do have plans for being a supercharged car and don't want to hassle with getting a new one... a 75mm would work for now.

i dont see how only going up 5mm from stock is going to make any difference if you get the 70..

I do plan on getting a supercharger. It's just I'm impatient and I wanted to start modding my car and started buying the "cheap" mods. Once I get the tb/plenum I'm going to start saving so I can get the $1500 DIY supercharger and hopefully save money on that so I can use it towards the install and tune.

I went with the 75mm because I got a deal on it. I never had any issues and made just as much hp as everyone else (Arguably more actually) with the same mods.

I've read the arguments about velocity vs. flow. I'm not really sure it will make a difference in most applications. I went straight to the 75mm.

Note: You are planning on getting a centrifical supercharger, right?

On 3 different dyno's 4 different times my car made 255-265rw with the following mods, SCT dyno tune, stock exhaust manifolds, Flowmaster 40's, O/R H pipe, C&L plenum, Mac 75mm tb & K&N filter with a BBK intake tube.

(hot summer days and were on dynojets)

dyno result variations even on back to back pulls is always something to consider. Taking into account the +/- it was still on the high side more than the low with only the very first dyno pulls (which was the day it was tuned) gave me the low 255rw.

Honestly though, don't get caught up with one over the other; any gains are minimal and only professional drivers car really tell the difference on hp gains that are less than 10-15hp.

Don't chase a number

so there would really be no loss in someone getting a 75MM Throttle Body/Plenum if they're NA?
