im not sure if those are the 4v or not, make sure its the 4v. i think its like 95-98 is 4v or something? search JC316, the guy with the red Sn95, he did a mark Viii swap and has a write up too

its a pull it your self salvage yard and they dont know what its really worth, i can give them $400 and they give me a warranty, i go get dirt cheap parts there all the time. I admire that engine everytime i go out there lol so yes i have looked at it.


i just looked it up its a double overhead cam so im guessing its a 4 valve?

yea probably is, you'll know because it'll have huggeee valve covers.

ok so one question, all this motor is, is a 96 cobra motor correct? so what ever parts i buy for it has for a 96-99 cobra?

would he need a cobra ecm since his car is 2v..

couldnt i just use everything off the mark viii like the computer and stuff, how many miles are these motors good for?

yea you prob can, yea you can use the Marks VIII's computer, but you can use your GT computer too but will prob need a tune.

Incorrect. The GT computer controls the engine fine.

The Mark VIII is tuned for an automatic and it has a bunch of other crap like the air ride and what not. Best to use the GT computer.

Almost. The intake is different, the valves and cams are SLIGHTLY different on the 95, and it doesn't use beehive springs. If you find a 97-98 Mark VIII engine, then the heads are the same and the valve springs are the beehive. On the 95, the valves are shrouded, on the cobra and 97-98 Mark VIII engine, they arent.

I still haven't tuned mine and it runs great.

Seems like everyone is jumping the gun here.

OP, have you ever replaced the timing chain tensioners? How many miles are on the car?
