Default Brake Issue

Hi, im a new owner of a 2000 GT. The car came with oem brakes which were not the greatest so i decided to improve them a bit. I got some SS brake lines and HPS pads. My mechanic installed them, we bled them and put in new fluid. I started driving and noticed the braking power was better but my pedal was very squishy i had to push it pretty far in before i got the stopping power. So i went back and we bled them a few more times. My mechanic swears there is no more air in there but i still have the same issue. They are not responsive at all. Once i push the pedal quit a bit down then the stopping power is awesome. Is there any way i can make the pedal firmer and more responsive?

My other issue is after i did the brakes now my hand brake light is always on. I cant get rid of it, any ideas?

thanks guys

The brake light being on indicates that the brake fluid level is low--or a defect or mis-adjustment of the fluid level sensor.

The hydroboost brakes will always have a bit of a spongy feel, particularly with theengine off, as compared to vacuum boost systems. A lot of people only notice this when they have brake work done and become more conscious of braking.

Not to say that this is your problem, it depends on how spongy they feel...

If the fluid was very low it could have sucked air into the master cylinder...
