When I first looked into superchargers instinctively looked at Summit Racing since it's 15 minutes away. All they have is Vortech kits. I think centrifugal blowers look like crap unless you are trying to run a full race setup where you've got nothing to hide.

I do love boost on most cars, but the idea of getting a solid hunk of power out of a N/A V8 is what intrigues me the most about V8's.

I've built a fair share of motors. Built some 4 bangers. I had a 93 twin turbo rx7...that car can only be run with boost (20 psi got me about 440 RWHP/TQ from 1800-8000 RPM)...rotaries are pussies when N/A...unless you've got 30K for a 3 rotor (3 rotor with boost is scary). Built a twin turbo 5.0... Currently own an 84 camaro with nothing but heads, cam, exhaust (10.5:1) and it pulls on 03/04 Cobras.

It's a tough choice...but considering the great condition of this mustang I really dont want to have to remove any more nuts and bolts than I have to...The instruction sets for the Centri SC's involved a crap load of modifications (at least the Vortech kit did) even if they have self-contained lubrication. I like the roots style since the IC's are built into the unit .

Tork Tech is nice because they run their own dedicated belt to bypas the factory serpentine.

Kenne Bell is nice just because of their billet quality and good reviews...

Although I know it might seem like the easy way out by just slapping on a blower and calling it a day, I think it would be best. I think as long as it is tuned right it wont affect the motor's longlevity. Most people who blow their engines have no idea what they're doing. It's all about timing, and how close you want to get to your knock threshold...and intake temps...

Thanks for the replies people!

building the top end will prob be more reliable in the long run. a superhcarged car has a better chance of blowing up, not saying it will the minute you crank it up. but the risk is there. on a 2v i'd do s/c'er lol

I mean id just do TFS heads, a decent cam, and an intake and gears, and you'll be MORE then happy w/ the car. Do LTs as well just so that all that new air getting into the motor and get out some how.

You'll be over 320 easy! I REALLy want a set of TFS ported heads...but 2k for heads is kinda rediculous.

2v have alot of potential n/a wise now. i bet it you put some 38cc heads, custon cams, 01 cobra or mach 1 internals in there you could be well above 350rwhp

the rods and pistons are the same in the mach1 and cobra to a GT. the only difference is the cobra and the 5 speed mach 1's have a forged crank. the auto mach 1 is a cast GT crank.

If it is a DD car I would not go with TFS heads and cams for a DD. If you opt for TFS heads you need some aggressive cams which does not make for a cost effective DD.

Go with blower and don't look back.

just food for thought
^^^ I disagree this you here. 370 > 350 power is power more you have the faster you will go all things being equal like driver ability, etc.

Power is not really power...blower power is different than turbo power is different n/a power. Numbers being the same, they will all make different kinds of power. So saying power is power is somewhat narrow-minded...no offense.
