The shorty's primaries aren't any shorter than stock manifolds!!!!!

You might lose low-midrange if you had LTs and then swapped to shorty's but that's not what were talking about here.

True but that won't really happen until you get into some very high rpms. Well beyond what these cars are capable of revving to.

LTs - more midrange than shorties and stock manifolds
Shorties - more midrange than stock manifolds, less than LTs

Do you understand that?

Longtubes are going to make more power throughout the whole powerband but up top it is close if not the same. And since everyone here is only about hp, the midrange lose with the shorties is ok for most
Maybe it's just me but it sounds like here you said midrange lose with shorty's LOL

iv seen a couple dynodays with a centri car that swapped out to some big shorties from his lts and gained right at 10 RWHP. He was only reving to 6500.

If I had a 4v I would put on shorties or equal length headers and never look back. With some cams that thing would own on the highway.

And Tbird, they may be the same length but they are not designed the same. There is a big difference between a manifold and any type of header form a flow standpoint.

I definitely felt a diff with my Ford Racing shorties. My exhuast hooked up better and sounded better as well.
