I owned a v6 mustang just sold it and bought a gt... the kid i sold it to just text me it needs a new trans i never had a problem with the trans when it was mine.. ever... Now i own a gt with 100k miles and my mechanic said mustangs have weak transmissions... im about to put 4.10s in it is this true, should i sell my car now before the same happens

your trans can last if maintained properly and not abused. that being said, i dont know how the car was driven prior to you owning it, or with you owing it.
on top of that, there are a lot worse things that could happen than replacing a trans...

they aren't the greatest but they arent complete crap either. you shouldnt sell your car expecting transmission problems.... if you do youll never own another car. just deal with whatever happens thats rediculous.
did you sell it stating you give no warranty or guarantee on the condition of the car, it is sold "as is"? for future reference always write that on the bill of sale just to cover your butt in situations like this (not sure if your implying the kid is comming to you for a new tranny or something)

well in the craigslist posting i dont think i put as is. but i thought with used cars thats implied and it was a month and a half ago so i doubt he can get money out of me it was fine when i owned it. but since i have a 100k mile gt would it be a bad idea to switch to the 4.10s now?

doh! always make an "as is" agreement when selling a used car, idk if there is a time limit where theyd have to report issues before a certain time elapsed but i know if something happened like a week later they could absolutely shake you down for money...hopefully 6weeks is long enough!
