Default am I due for an oil change? or will I be ok?

So I usually change my oil every 3k miles. However, I am now on my 4k mile mark. I am "trying" to wait it out until I install my SC and do a oil change anyways... but that could be another 2 weeks of driving (which only consists of short trips to/from school and maybe a 25 min drive to work and back on Fridays) Should I go ahead and change it anyways or should I be ok? I honestly though that you really only need to change every 6k miles, but shops put 3k just to get you back quicker for more $$.

Thanks for the input.

You'll be fine weather it's synthetic or not.

I got 5000 miles between oil changes which is what Ford recommends in the service manual. You should be alright, I wouldnt worry about it.

well I use synthetic and I do not have the ability to do it myself, so that's at least $70 right there at a shop. I would do it myself if I had a jack and a pan to drain the oil into, but I have neither (and I am not about to get under the car with that ****ty *** spare tire jack haha)

No worries at all. Changing your oil every 3000 miles is a waste of your hard earned money. Full synthetic can go 7500 no problem and non synthetic can go 5000 with no problems. Stop throwing your money away.
