Seafoam!
Ok, so I went down to a local autopart store and bought a can of seafoam.
I put half the can in the crankcase, you should've seen the **** that came out with my oil, it was disgusting. I put a quarter of the can in the fuel tank, car runs better already. (one full tank already gone through) And I saw an increase of gas mileage ~1-2 mpg. What got to me was, I put the last quarter of the can into the vaccum system (through the PCV) and I didn't get a smoke show :/ I'm hoping I didn't do anything wrong, but I followed the instructions to the "T". Has this happened to anyone else? |
yea after you use seafoam your supposed to change the oil in a week or two, and it really does look like sh*t when you change it haha but its normal i think. As for the smoke, i'm not sure. I didn't get a huge smoke show either..

You have to poor it in pretty quickly while holding the throttle to keep it from dying to really get the Mosquito killer effect.

Isnt the smoke just from when cleaning out the junk?... Maybe you didnt have any "junk" to get rid of?
Sorry i dont really know my terms lol |

You have to get enough in there to get it all ungunked. Like i used over a third of a can and i got my smoke show and my motor only has 50k miles on it. But you gotta use a lot of it through the vacuum line to get the nice smoke show, and follow directions from above.

If you've never used seafoam, you're not doing any good.
It's snake oil! |
^ Say what?

There is no miracle fluid. If your car needs it, it's too late. The only way it could work is part of regular maintenance since the engine was new. You're wasting you money and shortening the life of your catalytic converters. (If you have them.)

^+1...
OP, if Seafoam worked all those miracles your engine must have been a horrible gunked up mess--you need to change the oil more often... |
