Default so went to the 1/8th mile last night... can you say new hobby?

I think I have found a use for all this money I have put into my car...... when I can figure out how to actually do it right, lol. Had the time of my life out there with all those bad *** cars. As far as my times go, lets just saw I didnt know what the **** I was doing lol. My frist (and best run) came in at a slow 9.151 but I guess thats ok for literally my first run ever. I made a total of 3 passes, each progressively worse ( second time forgot to take off T/C and the third time I couldn't get into second haha) Anyways, here are the results of my first and best run:

Reaction: .409
60ft: 2.210
E.T.: 9.151
MPH: 81.854

Haha I got yelled at at the first run because I came up the return lane too fast (I had no idea what the **** I was doing lol). My reaction time sucks though, because I was told after the fact to go BEFORE the green light lol. I think that I should be able to easly shave some decent time off that by simply practicing my launch and actually launching at the right time. Anybody got any tips for me? haha. I really think I have found a new hobby though, It was such a blast. I am going out this next Thursday and gonna try it again, this time with some confidence and hopefully some tips from you guys.

Im gonna upload the videos of my first and second run some time soon. nothing really to see, just kinda cool if you are into that kinda stuff. Help me get some better times!!! haha. Thanks guys!

*Edit*

hey dude, we got to start somewhere. you'll be running with the big boys soon! i notice you trying not to spin, try easing the gas down slower until you feel like you lay the hammer down, then put her through the floor. do the same for second. let third eat. u'll figure it out

Awesome, just make sure you get the bug for real racing not that 1/8 crap. Make sure as well that if you're getting any advice from the old school track guys there at the 1/8th, that is does also apply to 1/4 mile drags. The setups for 1/8 although seem similar are worlds different.

Your reaction time has no effect on your 1/8 or 1/4 mile time. You could have a 5.480 reaction time and you would still have the same ET of 9.151 as your .409 reaction time.
