Default A Little Fender Bender

So I'm kind of pissed because the car got hit. I was basically at a red light and the guy driving decided he didn't want to stop.

So now my car has paint damage, the bumper is knocked off and my exhaust pipe is bent and it is rubbing on the rear tire. Fortunately no one was hurt. I was actually more pissed that the guy gets out of the car while I'm calling the cops and says there's no damage. So while on the phone I get out and I see all the above and I'm like what's that. Then he offers me $100 for it. I was like $100 pays for the shipping it would cost for a new bumper. I told him $800 minimum and it really should be more. He said no its not worth it. So I told him that we can wait for the cops. He tried to offer me the same amount again....usually at that point you offer more. I just didn't say anything more and waited for the cop.

The cop basically told me that since he failed to stop and hit me from behind, it was the other guys fault.

I'll post some pics tomorrow in the crappy NJ rain. I basically can't drive the car with rubbing and my insurance company told me not to touch anything until I speak to a representative during the day and see what is going on.

^me too. I was afraid with all the rain how people were driving.

I don't know if you know the Holland Tunnel well, but when you are coming out on the Jersey side everyone is gunning it and there was a red there that I stopped for. Basically the guy probably came out too fast and couldn't stop because there were a lot of cars yesterday night.

Looks like you got rear ended! /durr

Since you got rear ended, did you feel any whiplash?

I can't believe the guy said 'oh no damage', then offered a whopping hundred dollars.....wtf?

There is a new Azzhole around every corner. I would have just laughed walked away and sat smiling waiting for the cops at a $100 offer.

A 16 year old kid who had his drivers license like 2 weeks rear ended my truck one time and completely demolished his honda when it hit my receiver hitch on my truck and one little scuff on the bumper. I laughed and waited for the cop to get there to see the smile on his face

Yea I'm laughing now at the $100 offer, but I think at the time my face was like "are you joking buddy".

It's just going to take some time for this insurance thing. But my insurance company said that I can go ahead and try to bend my exhaust back so that I can make the car driveable.

A fellow backed into the front of my wife's Highlander, with witnesses so his insurance paid--a lot less damage than you have (just plastic weld/fill the bumper cover and repaint, Pearl White w/clearcoat) was $463. The good news is that his insurance company paid us $580.
