Default need some engine gurues?

Ok in the summer which is 2 weeks away im doing H/C/I my motor has 127k on it and im port and polishing the heads going with a MHS 3.5 npi cam, and a edlebrock victor jr intake, then of course full bolt ons, but should I get a engine rebuild kit or is it fine since im not doing forced induction? this problem has been worrying me!

All up to you really. It's not necessary.

bs....sorry anyone who tells you not to rebuild a 127k mile motor when you add 3000 bucks worth of top end parts hasnt thought it through. Basically if you want to risk a motor failure destroying your nice expensive stuff, then go for it. Id say tear it down check everything out and then put it back together. Plus, your putting a 3.5 cam in there? just making a guess, but id assume the the lift on that cam is going to require flycutting the pistons, and maybe .20 over cylinder bore....i could be wrong about that though.

There are people that put blowers on 100K+ cars without an issue. The only thing I would change out would be the timing chains, guides and tensioners. The bottom end should be just fine for a very long time.

i completely agree with jc. if the bottom end is healthy (compression check) then why the heck do you need to rebuild it. ya its prob alittle worn, but if its ready to rock what will a new tight engine get you? a few more hp? big deal. i mean sure if you want to rebuild and the money is there then go forged, but if not forget about it. i basically did the same thing as you last summer with 135k on my car. ported/polished my heads and added mhs stage 2 cams. car runs fine. now i'm saving up for a supercharger planning on running low boost. not going to rebuild bottom end for that either because i have perfect compression.
