Default 3.73s or not?

whats going on, my GT is a DD and i wanted to know whether itd be worth it for me to swap the stock gears (3.31s i think) to 3.73s. MY main concern is gas milage how much of a difference will it be. I do alot of highway driving in the summer.

Also would i need a tune, clearly for the RPM and speedo recalibration but im not real sure how that all works

4.10's or GO HOME!!! I get 26mpg on the highway...same as before my gears. 3.73's are sissy gears. 4.10's you will enjoy big time!!! The way i see the difference between 3.73's and 4.10's is would you rather spend the money and be ho-hum about the gains(3.73's) or would you rather be extremely happy with the purchase and love the car all over again(4.10's)?

100% 4.10s you will be so happy with them. I was debating the exact same thing and couldn't be happier with my decision to go 4.10s. buy a hand tuner and you can recalibrate it or just a speedcal if you dont want a tuner. In the long run spending the extra on the tuner is worth it!

Umm..... double negative...

And it's so ironic too as I hated English in H.S. but after taking two Comp courses in college I am the English **** now...

I always have been a grammar ****...not proud of it though. but yea, 4.10's or 4.30's...4.30's for mostly in town and 4.10's if you use the highways a ton.

I would say to go with 4.10's over the 3.73's if you have a 5speed.

I have 4.10's in my 04 GT 5speed and it only turns 2100rpm at 65mph.
