New track times with blower and Mr. Freeze meth injection
Well I took the car to the track for the first time ever. Sadly we don't have a real drag strip where I am stationed so they use the Air Field on the Army base. This means a very poorly prepped track sadly and very little orginization! We started almost an hour and a half late because they were having trouble with the timing system. Everyone there last night is pretty confident that the **** poor track prep coupled with the timing issues was resulting in low ETs. The track prep was so bad that people on bikes were trying to stay off the prepped part of the track and all they way to the left or right on the bare pavement. It felt like someone dunped a 50 gallon barrel of oil on it lol. Even people on slicks were skidding all over the place. But anyways here were my times below. The first run I launched at 1500rpm and the second and third I launched off the 2-step at 3k rpm. The track slowly got better but they shut down at 9 (quiet hours) so we never got to take advantage! I was in the left lane all three runs. There was no return lane so 14 cars would run and wait at the end of the track then when we got 14 cars we would return. Allowing the track to cool and resulting in 2.5 and higher 60 ft times.
I had no idea where to shift since I don't have a dyno up here so all shifts were at about 6k and I crossed the line in 3rd at around 6050 or somewhere higher at about 106mph at the fastest. It was pretty upsetting but when I PCS to the lower 48 I will be picking up some tires and suspension for sure. In My first run you can see where I had a higher trap speed than the bad *** Challenger beside me For what it's worth the elevation is 440ft above sea level.
Run 1 vs New Challenger:
Run 2 vs stock 07 gt:
Run 3 vs some truck:

What do you guys think I should look into as far as gears and tires? I plan to do sfc's and lower control arms and some tires. But I am not sure how to go about tires and wheels. What ever I get will only be installed for the track for sure. I wan't something I can launch from 3k everytime and won't be to bad on the rear end. I heard slicks are better than Dr's as far as not breaking stuff. What gears should I run if I was crossing the trap in 3rd gear at between 6050 and 6100 rpm? I want more gear btu don't want to hit 4th gear right at the trap
