GAUGES AFTER SUPERCHARGING????

what gauge besides a boost gauge is a must when puttin a blower on is an wideband A/F gauge a must?

PurpleIcedGT 06-15-2010 11:09 PM

wideband air/fuel is always important, then another popular one is oil pressure.

Rockwell28 06-16-2010 12:15 AM

alright thanks for that wasnt for sure on it bc of seeing stangs with just the boost gauge in it. so an additionail oil gauge besides the stock one is a must too?

PurpleIcedGT 06-16-2010 06:59 AM

I wouldn't say a must....I would say its one of the more common ones used.

The stock oil psi gauge sucks...its simply an on/off switch...above 6psi(i think) it shows good and below shows bad

school boy 06-16-2010 11:05 AM

another good one to have is fuel pressure. but any extra monitoring guages are a good safty net

Rockwell28 06-16-2010 01:00 PM

gotcha that way ya can just keep an eye on every single thing thats going on b4 ya blow smthn or tear it up instead of guesswork. gotcha

Boost, A/F ratio/ Fuel pressure/ Oil pressure/ Water temperature are all important gauges to be accurate. Get one of the pods that surrounds the stock gauge bezel and include all of these.

Especially a motor that is going to get beat on, keep on eye on all of these things.

amoosenamedhank 06-16-2010 04:16 PM

I'm currently running Boost/Vac and fuel pressure... a Wideband is nice but not completely necessary.. and dime is right, the stock oil pressure gauge is simply an on off switch. No information to be had from that.

Rockwell28 06-16-2010 09:51 PM

gotcha and its not going to be beat on too much maybe the track 2 or 3 times a month but its still kind of a dd. another ting that kinda pushed me away from the fuel pressure gauge was sm1 saying its dangerous to run a fuel pressure line to the interior of your car can ya kinda gauge ya a/f ratio as far as lean/rich by just having the fuel gauge? bc I was under the impression that the a/f gauge was a tuning tool. and jay rod I was gonna go with the autometer instrument cluster that holds 2 gauges. is that the one you are referring to? or are you talking about one of the multifunction gauges? and thanks for all the info!
