Default 4.10's and a turbo or 3.55's and a KB?

I have an '02 mustang with a MMR forged shortblock and every supporting mod, besides heads and cams (which are coming this summer, trickflow btw haha). I have 3.55's in it now, but kind of want to make the jump to 4.10s. But if i do that, i know having a KB put on would be stupid when it comes to hooking up. I'm not against turbos, but at the same time I don't like lag. Suggestions? Thanks all.

3.55's and a turbo or 3.73's and a KB...turbos need high rear gears. Now change how you were looking at things and see what you think.

Yeah.. I've heard turbo people jumping back down to the 3.27s too.. So whatever you do... fear the gear.

Go with a 3.55 through 3.90 gear.

depends what you are looking to achieve IMHO. You going to race it? Or you going to build it as a toy to rape tires with?

if you wanna hook, i'd say no higher numerically than 3.73's for a twin screw and 3.55's with a turbo. Thats just my opinion. Im going either 3.73's or 3.90's with a roots/twin screw because thats the kinda power i want and i want that feel of the instant torque combined with that gear would just rock. but for you, 3.73's and a twin screw or 3.55's and a turbo. For me its a toss up between the two though.

thanks guys. another question...ok, I'm wantin to go to the track with it, but i also want that nasty torque when messin around in town. would a turbo with a dual disc clutch have as much torque as a roots/screw? it'll probably be another year before it gets boosted, i just want to get it all figured out in the mean time.

I think either way, you will be very happy with the torque output of the two (twin screw/turbo). A member here recently posted a dyno chart with a turbo on his engine, and it made a very nice amount of low end torque. Probably surprised a lot of people to see that.

OP if you match a proper size turbo with proper gearing you should have little to no turbo lag, and if you go with a big turbo throw a 50 shot of juice on to help the spool.
