Default JLT Cold Air Intake Fitment Problem?

So I bought this upgrade for my 03 mustang GT (convertible)

http://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-96-04-gt-cai.html

as I was installing I noticed that that MAF adapter is way too big for my Mass air flow sensor. I contacted AM and they told me that they would look into it by the pictures I sent them. They guy even mention that maybe I have the wrong mass air flow sensor installed but how could that be?

I uploaded the pics here so you guys can see...has anyone of you ever had that probleM?

do you know how big your MAF adapter is or for that matter...how big is your Mass Air Flow Sensor?

Can you post a couple photos of just the MAF itself?

It should have an 80mm bore if it's OEM...

I believe my maf is 80mm and the adapter is the same one you have there I believe. Its been so long since i've seen my maf...its been hiding in the fenderwell for almost 2 years now.

well on mine doesn't say 80mm at all...but here's the measurements

the "inner" diameter is 3 1/2" on the flange side and 3 3/8" on the other side.

Sounds like the stock MAF, (it's just under 80mm bore in the center) in which case there's no way that's the correct adapter...
