Default What should I do?

Hey all,
As many of you know I'm doing the IRS swap here in the next couple weeks. Bushings are on order and will be put in upon arrival and then the rear end will be almost ready for install. But I'm planning on going with coilovers on my car, but I'm unsure if I should go ahead and put the coilovers on the rear while I have the rear end out of the car or if I should wait. I mean the reason why im wondering is because I'm going to Mustang Week @ Myrtle Beach the second to last week of July and I'm wanting to take a decent amount of money with me for spending money so I can buy parts/replace parts if I break something while im down there. I am working 3 jobs and make decent money but I want to be sure I have enough money for while im down there. Any input? Should i go ahead with the rear coilovers too or should I put them off for now?

Teej

What happened, I thought you were doing the swap like over a month ago; you were all stoked to dig into the project on one particular Saturday morning as I recall. If I'm reading your question right, then it makes sense to do the c/o's while it's already torn apart (assuming you have the c/o parts already) for the rearend swap. It'll make it a little more of a project, but one that'll be done in one foul swoop. Have fun at Mustang week; we don't get **** but the Knott's show (which I wasn't able to go to this year) over here on the Left Coast.

Well I was all pumped to do the swap that one saturday morning but when i got to my buddy's place he only wanted to tackle the swapping over of the front suspension and brakes and then ever since then i've been so busy its not even funny. So the IRS still isnt in and i wanna get everything done before the thing goes into the car. But the reason why i'm asking is because i didnt buy the parts yet and I have to ship my IRS shocks out to Cali to get them grooved to accept the CO sleeves that MM uses. This service is free but I have to ship them out there and they will ship them back for free. So maybe i can work out a deal with them to ship the CO's in the same box as the shocks or maybe install the sleeves for me while they are there and ship them all together.

But I havent bought the kit yet and havent sent my shocks out to get grooved yet. So i really dont know what to do...i really wanna do them though as Cobra owners are very impressed with them on the IRS.

I think you should stop making threads and just buy full coil overs. you know you want to.. just do it. your not going to break anything on that irs with your power level.. dont worry about it.

Not worried about the IRS breaking, not worried about that at all. My concern is my transmission and/or clutch taking a crap on me. And i'm buying parts on a weekly basis because I dont have all the cash to buy all of this all at once. Just ordered my C/C plates from AM because they are running $20 off an order over $150. So that part is taken care of.

I get paid about $500 a week from all 3 jobs. So the clutch and then install(which i could do myself...if i found time and could use my buddy's shop for his lift and tools) would be about a whole week's worth of pay.

Well either way its going to get done, and I might as well get it done now while the IRS isnt in the car and have the car be out of commission for a while. Next weeks paycheck is going into my rear end I think and then the following into the front coilovers and then im done til mustang week.

If you have the funds and feel like spending some cash money, then get the coilovers... If you don't feel like it, just cut the springs until you can get coilovers...
