Default New shoes on my 96 GT! Ditched the 10th Annis for some 03 Cobras!

As some of you might remember, back in March, I tried chrome 10th Anniversary Cobra wheels on my 96 GT. 17x9 front, 17x10 rear. It was a poor decision, as despite the excellent quality of the wheels, they did not look good at all on my car:

I had 285/40 NT555s on the rear and 245/45 ZE512s on the front. I had these on for less than a week, I was just completely unhappy with my choice. It took until a couple weeks ago to sell the wheels and the Nittos, but as soon as I sold them, I ordered a set of AFS silver 03 Cobra reps in 17x9/10.5. These were the wheels I was originally going to buy, but decided I wanted to try something a bit more unique...I never should have strayed away! I had a set of 275/40 and 315/35 NT555s installed, and I am LOVING these wheels:

Love the 315s! Filling out the wheel wells and looking awesome!

I know 03 Cobras are very popular, 'played out' in many people's minds, but they're popular for a reason - they look GREAT! I'm exponentially happier with the 03s than I was with the gaudy 10th Annis. Honestly, I see very few Mustangs in my area with 03 Cobras, so it's not a common thing where I'm from. I'm very happy with the overall look, I think it's very muscular, and I really like the 315s on the rear, they fill out the wheel wells perfectly. My one "complaint" is that the front wheels do extend beyond the fender by a fraction of an inch, which I didn't really expect, but I'll just have to live with that. I feel like the wheels/tires actually help the car look lower, but maybe that's just me. Lowered with stock wheels, for reference/comparison:

Let me know what you think! Good or bad, I can take it I know some will say I need to lower it more, but I already scrape my LTs sometimes, so I'm not keen on going lower. I may eventually go back and pull out the upper ISOs (lowers are already gone), but not sure.

Looks a lot better the second time around! But I would say let it the way it is now. Just clean her up, make her shine, put some tire shine on the nittos and polish your exhaust tips and she'll look mighty fine my friend. Good job.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Really appreciate them! The improvement can't be quantified, lol. I wish it hadn't cost me so much to find out that the 10th Annis weren't right, but live and learn.

Thanks teej. The pic you posted of your buddy's old red SN95 is what made me decide to get the 03 Cobras, even though he had 18s. You're right, mine is in DIRE need of a full detailing, which I'm hoping to do this weekend.

I actually think you're car looked really good with the stock wheels.. but the Cobra's are pure win mang! They are much more refined and flow with the smooth lines of the car a lot better.
