Default my new 98 gt

hey everyone! I'm no stranger to the forum as i have a 70 mustang I'm working on, but i picked up this 98 gt yesterday for 4k it has 5speed, which needs a throwout bearing, the place i bought it from wanted 1k to fix it for me, but I'm mechanically inclined, and I was told its only a 4-5 hour job.

commets?

Looks like a pretty clean pony... Clutch release bearings are a 4-5 hour job for an experienced mechanic, and while you have the transmission out you might as well replace the entire clutch since its only a few additional steps. A nice clutch kit, clutch cable, et al can be had for under $300 if you shop around.

that sounds about right. +1 on clutch kit. might as well have a new one in esp since you're gonna have it ripped apart, and if you plan on making more power

well i opted for the clutch kit i got from the parts store cost 106. the hardest part was the starter, past that it went pretty smooth, we started at 9:30 and finished around 5ish, the cable was fine, it just needed to be adjusted.

for now I'm keeping it as the daily driver until the 70 runs then I'll be doing timing chains and maybe cams if its in the budget

I'm gonna compound it up and slap a fresh coat of wax on Thursday and we'll see how well she sparkles
