4.6L General Discussion This section is for non-tech specific information pertaining to 4.6L (Modular) Mustangs built from 1996 to 2004.

Just bought my first Mustang 1998 GT 4.6L. What are the steps to make it fast now?

kinda a critical part don't you think? lol
i obviously am not referring to all cars, just the stock/ close to stock cars.

i understand you could swap motors, but thats some serious coin that the OP most likely doesn't have. it would be easier to get a better platform and go from there.

Depends on how much you wanna spend. Not everyone can afford a mach or cobra. I have a 96 gt and I have done the pi intake swap and gears and it is made me pretty happy with the car so far. but if you want serouis power you will have to ethier sale the car and save for awhile (cuz i know a mach 1 or cobra is gonna be a lot more than you spent on that car) or have that motor rebuilt and supercharge it.

What you have to ask yourself is what do you really want from the car. do you want a lot of power for drag racing or just some nice power to have fun with on the streets.
