Carbon Fiber Hood/Trunk worth it?
#31
If its for looks yes do it, I did it on my Taurus SHO, it saved about 40lbs over stock, can't say for a mustang, but it's probably going to at least save 30 lbs. But is 30lbs worth spending 500 bucks on a street car for performance alone? No way in hell, just lay off the mcdonalds for a while and call it a day.
When I did it on my sho I did it for a few reasons and I'll put them in order of importance and the perentage of how much I weighted my reason buying:
1) Looks (80%)
2) Under hoods temps dropped (this was a cowl hood) (10%)
3) weight savings/better handling (10%)
Basically I bought for looks, and it came with a few perks.
