It wouldn't matter at all. Its not like the tuner won't work in a year or anything.

You can get a tuner, but i say wait until you get the mods that require a tuner. Save your money and spend it on something else for now. That's my $0.02

Actually, it depends on what type of tuner he gets. If he get's a Sniper setup, no it won't matter when he buys it, as he can always go back in and change the tune himself accordingly. However...if he were to get an SCT tuner, they only come preloaded with a tune, or you have to get a tune from a shop on a dyno. So, if he gets an SCT, that means he'd be better off waiting until he has all his bolt-on's done first. My recommendation is to get the Sniper special forces setup. You can always upgrade later if you want to learn to tune yourself. Best product IMO.

sorry to steal the thread for a moment: how is the sniper tuner for tuning large power adders like turbos/superchargers?

back on-topic, a tune would really help you configure things your way. if you have an auto, new rear gears, bigger tires/wheels, etc etc. however, its big bucks for a first mod, and if i were startin with somethin simple a tuner would prolly be farther down the list. not sure what your driving is like, but suspension work is a high priority IMO for these cars...

what mods did you have planned? some mods benefit more than others with a tune.

Sniper is really one of the best and most versatile tuners out there.

I don't have any personal experience with it maybe CliffyK will chime in and give us a little info.

Delta Force Commando can pretty much tune anything. I would go with the Commando package right off the bat and learn to use it, ull be happy you did.

you can get a short block from MMR for 2200-3000$ capable of supporting 600-900 hp.
www.modularmustangracing.com. i feel they have the best prices, as it includes a warranty, and they dont have a core charge, so you can sell your block or keep it if you want.

really, the only reason you'd need a built short block is if you plan on either boostin or juicin. N/A there's no point. and the stocker is good up to about 450 rwhp depending on tune.

if you plan on spinning your block up past 6400 a forged assembly would be a good idea.. just because you build n/a does not mean forged parts are never applicable.
