Default Time for a clutch!

Looking for advice on a new clutch for a 2000 GT, 92,000 miles. Basically stock power, with no major power upgrades in the near future. I'd like to stay close to stock pedal pressure. I'm not looking for a clutch to handle 800 rwhp, just something to upgrade from stock. I was looking at the Spec Stage 1 and the King Cobra. Would I see any real improvements if I went with a lighter flywheel with stock power, or should I just resurface the stock flywheel and be done. I may also install a new quadrant and firewall adjuster/cable. Do all the quadrants and firewall adjusters work with an OEM cable?

Centerforce DF clutch is perfect for ya bud. And if it's a street car it's up to you. If it were a track car I would say stay with steel but get a new flywheel regardless I'd say. I'd go with aluminum personally since it's a street car like mine.

Resurfacing your flywheel is what, like $25. A new aluminum one is what $325? and a steel is $225?

My buddy has a centerforce DF clutch in his car with the stock flywheel resurfaced and I think it's awesome. He LOVES it...

So another vote for centerforce dual friction! It's a little more expensive, but you should only have to do the clutch ONCE... So it's up to you. I have heard good things about king cobra. Spec seems to be hit or miss.

And yes, the quadrants and firewall adjusters work with the stock cable. I am running UPR stuff on my stock cable. I need a new clutch to take full advantage of the adjustment, however.

So, I got the Centerforce DF on the way. Ford Racing TOB and PB is coming too. Took my flywheel to get it resurfaced and the shop snapped off 2 of the dowel pins in the flywheel. Anyone have this problem? Should I just get it resurfaced and drill 1/8" holes on the backside of the flywheel and tap out the dowels and replace them? Or should I replace the the flywheel for sure? I hate to spend the extra money for nothing, but I don't want to take the tranny out again because of a flywheel issue.

I highly recommend getting a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch it's
the best clutch I ever used and I also think it will be perfect for you.
The Centerforce Dual Friction clutchis easy and pleasant to drive, but still
grabs hard.Engagement is very smooth.Petal pressure is just slightly
more than stock. The Centerforce clutches are very consistant when the
clutch grabs. The reliability and quality of the Centerforce clutches
is excellent. What I like the most about the Centerforce Dual Friction
clutch is that they hold alot of power and hold up very well to abuse.
Also my Centerforce Dual Friction clutch doesn't chatter or make
strange noises like my POS spec stage 2 clutch did.
I would avoid the spec clutches like the plauge. My spec stage 2 clutch
failed in 5K miles of normal driving.I personally will never buy another spec
clutch or product ever again in my life because spec costed me two
clutch installed.

Like i said, I already have a Centerforce DF on the way. I just want some suggestions on the flywheel issue. Has anyone had the locating dowels snap off and drill the flywheel to knock them out and use the flywheel with no issues?
