Question BOOST GAUGE electric or mechanical

peicing together the remaining parts for my v-1 install. on a boost gauge what is the real difference besides the obvious on the electric and mechanical boost gauge i see the mechanical is cheaper i just dont want to get that bc of the price and it end up not being the one i need. which would you guys run or recommend? mechanical boost gauge or electrical?

I would probably run a mechanical boost gauge if I had to do it all over again. Mine is digital and only shows at 5+ psi so my guage pretty much just shows 0 all the time then around 4k RPMS it goes 5... 6.. 7.. 8.. 9... shift back to 5. There are no 8.7psi displays only full psi.

sounds like you get the full time boost/vac with the mechanical gauge then based off that unless sm1 else comes on with a diff experience with an electrical gauge. thanks for that reply

Go with a plumbed vacuum/boost gauge, costs less, much less to break...

with boost, mechanical is the way to go. For oil press/fuel electric is the way to go.

+0.75 -- Mechanical oil I can live with, there's no way in "the bad place" that I'd bring pressurised fuel into the cabin!

Deep down inside I agree, I guess that because I'm old I can live with the oil--but having 40psi+ of gasoline in there scares the crap out of me...
