^ well I would have to diasagree....Yes kinetic friction will be lower than static...but they show it moving and you see a amp load (split second amp load of 8.2)....then (while still moving) they add in the RP and the amp load goes down (to about 5).

So, and I'm not saying I believe that video by ANY means, but it would be like pushing a couch on a carpet (8.2 amp load) and then continue to push it off the carpet onto a wooden floor (5 amp load)...it would get easier to push. Which is what they are trying to show you. By adding the RP in while it's moving, it directly reduces the friction (amp load goes down).

I get a kick out of a guy asking how to remove a shifter with 1200 posts is calling out someone on how is trans shifts smoother than someone with 7000 more posts (HOSS)...

EE I wonder if you actually do research on some stuff you try and do to your car....if I were you I would make google, not my friend...my BEST friend.

Those 4 bolts you need to take out (what you can't see in your pic) is how EVERY shifter is bolted onto the trans lol

I knew someone was goign to look into it that way. No it doesn't mean that but I was also saying that with what HOSS has said in his replies. Clearly that was not spelled out in my last post.

yeah you are right. they are changing the coefficient of kinetic friction... making it easier to turn at the same rpm (with less work)

I still think that there is a lot they are leaving out to add cause for the RP

for example, when they add the RP the oil is now overflowing and spilling out of that little "cup". So if they just added more mobile one they could of possibly achieved the same result.

AND if you notice they drop the weights on with the thing spinning. that will cause extra upwards force on the bearing or whatever it is, which is why it prob eats that chunk out of it.

I have posted this previously, however I cannot resist adding it to this thread.

FWIW, I ran RP Synchromax in my 3650 for 60k miles and two changes--mostly because I could get it at cost from a friend in Daytona. Well the recession caught up with him (that and selling things to his friends at cost), so I used Mobil1 ATF from WallyWorld about 5k miles ago now...

Guess what? The tranny shifts smoother than it ever did with the RP, hands down no contest, even my wife commented on it after a brief ride around the block to relocate my car when we had a party a while back. Even that little hitch in the 1-2 shift is now barely noticeable.

I wish the heck I had used it 65k miles ago...
