Default Best mods for a 2000 Mustang GT?

Hey whats up everyone, I picked up a 2000 Mustang GT, its my first one. I've had it a couple weeks now, and I'm working on a list of mods I'm wanting to put on it, I'll be wanting to drag race, but I'll still be driving it around town etc. Right now I'm looking at supercharger, 4:10 gears, I've got Magnaflow exhaust on right now, Any suggestions/ideas? I'm also repainting it, custom if I can find a good idea. So if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks.

if its an automatic, blower with 4.10's and a stall is gonna be fine. If its a 5 speed, youre gonna want no more than 3.73's with a blower for drag racing. And instead of getting a custom paint job, get a new forged shortblock so you can run good boost through it without blowing it up or buy a good drivetrain to put the power down with good suspension.

Even 4.10's with a 5-speed on a low boost centrifigual blower is not too much IMO. My buddy has 3.73's on his Procharged 5-speed 01 gt (370 rwhp) and we both agree it could stand a tad more gear.

But for running at the track it will be too much. I agree on a street car that 4.10's arent to much IMHO but seeing that the OP is gonna be running at the track, he is gonna need 3.73's. 4.10's would run out of gear too quick.

Ill be running 4.10's with a vortech. for a vortech/prochargeretc 3.73 or 4.10. ( unless your a roll racer doing 130+) if ya get a Kenne Bell/Tork Tech 3.55 or 3.73 or even stock if ya got over 500rwhp

For drag racing I would get traction first. Slicks, skinnies and built rear. Then when you add the s/c or whatever you'll be able to hook up. Buying a s/c, gears, exhaust is good but not when you can't hook up.

True that's a good point. IIRC my buddy's 01 Bullitt was at 110 mph @ 6K with 4.10's, and he was trapping 104 mph with just full bolt ons. Even at 350 rwhp 110 mph might not be enough to get the OP through the 1/4 mile.

Now youre catching on just givin ya hell bud. But if OP buys track tires that are 28" tall tires, he could run a 4.10 gear at the track as the tires will water down the gear and help with traction and then have a hell of a beast on the street.
