Default Bought an 02 Mustang GT - some surprises

Hello all, new to forum.

Got a good deal on an 02 Mustang GT, 60K miles, w/manual 5-spd.

Independent dual exhaust with FlowMaster 40s.
It wasn't perfect but I am a tinkerer and can fix/repair cars no problem.

Finding out more about it every day.

Sway bar bracket bent causing sway bar to rub tire when fully turned. Hmm
Driveshaft rotated 4.1 times for each tire revolution - yes 4.10 rear gears. Hmm
Rear differential started leaking, opened it up and found two gear teeth inside. Hmm
I could not find the gear with any teeth missing!!??
Exhaust smelled of sulpher, must be bad cats. Hmm
Bought stock H-pipe from ebay installed with new O2 sensors (O2 connectors were crossed). Much better sound and noticed more low end power.
Transmission made loud noise, must be the Steeda Triax shifter, shifted like a truck. Hmm
Tranny noise got louder then it was stuck into 3rd gear. It was shot.
Time to replace tranny with a remanufactured unit.
Took tranny out and noticed I have Centerforce clutch stage 2 at least. Hmm
The reman shop pointed out that the tranny I had was not a stock stang unit but a Tremec 3550/TKO unit that is designed for racing. Hmm
I decided on getting the stock TR3650 to put back in because I don't plan to race it. Kept bell housing.
Driveshaft would not fit stock tranny, went to salvage yard to pick up a stock driveshaft with 31 splines.
New tranny was leaking, found out it was leaking from crack in housing.
Out it came and to the reman shop for a different housing swap.
Tranny back in and all is much better (getting good at swapping trannys).

Whew, what will be next, engine??

Holy **** I thought I had it bad with my car. Sounds like you should be able to start enjoying your car now that everything is up and running good.

5 months after I bought my car, which just so happened to be 2 days after i got my drivers license...threw a rod bearing. $2000 later I got a motor and tranny from a car with 28k miles and I was good. EE FAILS AGAIN!!! lol cant believe you blew $5500 on a new motor/rebuild. I hope it was 100% billet rotating assembly good for 1200hp.
