Around how much RWHP/RWT should you consider 31 spline?

6 months to a year? Tell the wife who wears the pants in the relationship and build the rear and slap a KB on it. Then you will be satisfied for a while that you won't spend anymore money on the car.

Good thing by then I should have my car all done or very close to it that way I won't have to ask her if I can mod it lol

Some guys last for years on slicks with the stock rear end, some people break spider gears or axles on basically stock power even on street tires occasionally. There is really no set rule about when upgrading the diff and axles is "needed" other than when it breaks. I would say that if you are going to be racing your car at the strip on even somewhat sticky tires, be prepared for the rear to fail no matter how much power you have.

I have lasted over 100 passes with MT ET DRs and about a dozen passes on slicks cutting in the 1.7xx 60 ft range on the stock rear end.........the thing can take some abuse. That being said, I have everything needed for a 31-spline swap ready and sitting in my garage for the day when the stock rear finally does give.

Why wouldn't you just install your 31 spline setup instead of waiting until it breaks? It could be a mess of fluid on the track, delay for all the other racers because you broke and cost you a tow to your shop.

Are you manual or auto?
