Unhappy Selling my baby

Hey yall, if you are interested I am selling my 04 GT, but the reason I am putting it in here is the situation behind it. My insurance is 360 a month, makes things tight, got married, makes things tighter lol. Well I call my Insurance company and turns out I am going to try and sell my car and get into an old 5.0 for the same amount mine is worth and pay 140 a month on insurance. It kinda don't make sense, i understand it being 18 years older, but that big of a difference??? Its just as fast and just as nice, specially since it will cost me around 10K for the one I am looking at.

Someone care to tell me if it is the fact that its that much older or if I am missing a variable?? I figured a mustang with a V8 is a mustang with a V8 to insurance companys'.

Insurance company must think you are less of a liability with a old 5.0 then a newer Mustang.

Those fox bodies are nice for modding and them weighing 2700lbs or whatever is nice also.

yea, i raced my dad who has an 89 GT and he got me out of the hole, we hit third at about the same time and i pull on him to about door-to-door, then he pulls away again so i think it will be better anyways. faster, better cornering, just dont look as good IMO. I think yall will agree lol

Fox body=older and less power. they have a 5.0 with 215hp...you have a 4.6 with 260. My insurance went from 1200 to 1800 when i went from my 98 to my 02.

Whats you Insurance company ? Mine is very cheap and was when I was your age. Now I compare prices every once in a while and I still have the cheapest company out there. Progressive wants 250 a month or 1500 for six months, The place I am now I pay 650 every six months or a 1000 a year.

You need to get something checked out... I pay 120$ a month for full coverage and I consider that to be high.
