Default Every time I'm in traffic...

I notice that my front right brakes KEEP squealing. It's like this intermittent squeak that only happens when I'm NOT pressing the brakes. Once I press the brakes, it completely goes away. Actually, even when I'm at speeds of like 25mph, they STILL can be heard intermittently squeaking.

I have a lot of pad life left... and every time I hit the brake pedal, the noise is completely non-existent.

Should I maybe buy that anti-squeal foam that you scrub on the pads? Or is this maybe a rotor related issue?

Check the backing plate behind the rotor. The noise you describe 99% of the times is caused by the backing plate rubbing the rotor.

Nice man, thanks. Do I have to take off the rotor to see this plate? I'm trying to picture what it looks like.

Ohhh okay the dust shield. So I might just need to bend the shield back a little bit.

Yep. Just make sure not to bend the top or bottom to much by themselves, as it will push the other side in. Grab the top and bottom and bend them back a little at the same time. You shoul dbe able to see where it is rubbing if that is your problem.

No vibrations at all. I'm aware that this would signal warped rotors, but nah just the squeaking noise that is intermittent (and gets faster intermittent as I pick up speed)
