Random Toipc of the day: What made you pick a 96-04 GT?
#21
I bought a 1995 V6 Mustang convertible when I was 16 as my first car. I paid like 4500$ for it and then drove it around forever. I blacked out the front and rear tail lights, and got a 96-98 cobra hood for it. Even got a brand new paint job on it. I wanted a faster car so I actually spent quite a bit of money trying to make it faster. 4.10 gears, Cammed, stage 3 heads, stage 3 upper/lower intake, true dual exhaust, flowmasters, CAI. I eventually went so far as to twin turbo it. Was messing around one day and shattered 3rd gear in my auto transmission and put it in a friends body shop until I could get the funds to repair the transmission. Ended up getting stolen about 4 days later out of the body shop. Ended up getting around 7k$ for it (not nearly what I put into it) and put the money into the bank. I bought a 1986 Pontiac Firebird from my Uncle who owns a body shop and had recently repainted it. Beautiful car, but slow as hell. Eventually got bored of it and found a 99 Mustang GT close to where I lived for retardedly cheap. Bought the GT and sold the Firebird. Been modding it ever since.
Picture of my 1995 (Yes it was pretty ricey, but I was 16 and it was at least clean):

i crashed my 94 in a snow storm and figured id get something a little newer to hold me off until college. i had almost 10k saved up at the time to tear into the 94, but ended up using on the 03. when combined with the money i got from the 94 at a salvage aution i had about 12k to work with. when looking for a car i knew it had to be another mustang. i knew from the beginning of the search that it was going to be a new edge 4V of some kind. i started off looking at mach 1s but was having a lot of trouble finding a stock one or close to stock one in perfect condition. i popped on autotrader and decided to look at cobras for $hits and giggles not really being able to afford one. well i found this 100% stock cobra 500 miles away in chicago and couldn't pass it up. my dad was nice enough to loan me the extra cash to make the purchase. i've basically been paying him back since, hence why my mods fund is at a minimum.
MAKE YOUR SIG SMALLER ITS TOO BIG IT EXCEEDS FORUM LIMITATIONS.

btw...i got into mustangs in general by flipping through various aftermarket parts catalogs when i was 15. i saw catalog after catalog with huge mustang sections of parts. i then went onto the internet and saw multiple videos and knew i had to have one. seeing and hearing a few in person just solidified the fact. went out and bought my 94 for 5k a year later.
