Looking at wheels/tires.....need some advice

A bigger wheel can effect performance due to weight, but the tire diameter is key here. The OEM diameter is 25.6", so keep ALL your tires at this diameter and will have no change in effective gearing nor speedometer accuracy. Neither of these is necessarily a big deal, but can avoid some issues.
1.5" drop is going to be fine with any of the wheels mentioned here.

So would the 18" wheels be ok

I was actually considering the staggered size at first as well, after I realized how flipping small a 17" wheel looks, I went with the 18"s. I have 18x9 up front and 18x10 out back. I would have preferred 18x10.5 but I got these wheels used with tires for a killer deal and I couldn't pass em' up(thnx waggs). Deep dish bullit's are popular, as are saleens. I cannot stand these flipping ricer-roni "check out my 456754565 spoked wheels!!!!" bull****t. It's a mustang, not a civic, leave the spiderwebs wheels for the imports where they belong. Of course my fav look is bigs n littles with a 28" tire out back...but that's only not exactly practical lol.
Yeah, agreed. I really like the American Racing wheels and was originally thinking getting them just bigger/wider.

I'm startin to like the Saleen more, even with the slightly higher price than the other wheels I was looking at. I really like the Black Chrome. My friend had them on his Mitsu VR4.
