Default Found it! Finally my new Mustang!!!

Hey everybody, I finally got my stang! It is a 04 with 30,000 miles and no body or title problems and it drives like a champ ($10,000 off the lot!)! It it perfect except for one problem... its a automatic! I was wondering if it is even worth modifying at all? I mean I am going to college now and I really wanted a track car, is it worth it? Is there a reasonable way to make it a manual?

I don't think its worth the time and money to do it. If you wanted a manual you should have just waited to find one you really wanted.

I was thinking at least autocross or some amateur track racing, would a tuned auto be just as good as a manual?

Nothing wrong with automatics. Swapping in a manual wouldn't be very hard if you have wrench turning experience. It takes a lot but really is a pretty straight forward swap.

Hell I have a flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, driveshaft, PCM, trans wiring harness and the shifter cable for a T45. Just need a tranny and you have a 5 speed instead of an auto.

Money? Probably. Time? No. Wouldn't take that long. Not really difficult either.

4 years of auto shop and always under the hood I have some wrench turning experience I just wont have a garage! I would need to have someone do it or get a guy to let me use his shop... Sounds expensive to me!
