Default Sorry for no pic of the day but other good news

Have been swamped at work but I thought I would share some info on a build I will be assisting with. The platform is a 2001 stock Bullitt with MAC mufflers. The goal is 325-330RWHP with a stock bottom end.

Doing my research and putting together my plan right now, so I will keep ya posted. This car will see occassional track time, be very streetable and mostly for autocross. The owner will be doing the suspension and I will be doing the powerplant. I am very excited. WAHOOOOO!!!

Mitch

Sounds like a relatively easy build for ya, Mitch. 330 is no biggie these days.

Yeah, the trick will be streetability. It's gotta have good street manners and reliable. The only thing that concerns me is the 2V's really like to be twisted. And with him doing alot of upshifting and downshifting, the poor old stock internals might be begging for mercy. Ya know?

Keep the revs below 6500 and he will be ok I think. I found when I autocrossed I stayed in 2nd most of the course and only had to shift to 3rd on the long stretches.

I am talking with Jim from CMS. He and Scott did my first set of custom grinds for the Bucket. So I will have them throw together a good head and cams combination. The Bullitt intake will get alot of port and polish work to really open up the flow for the heads and cams. The intake should start pulling around 2500-2800 rpms and from there, the heads and cams should really start pulling from 3300-3500 rpms and pull all the way to the 6500-6800rpms range.

I think that this build is not gonna be a hard feat to accomplish in all reality. even with regular ported PI heads and stage 2 cams you can reach that. With TFS heads you got more room to work with for PTV clearance so you can fit a bigger cam in there.

I would also suggest talking to Nick McKinney and looking into his packages. And I hope you have a fluid dampener for the crank to spin the stock shortblock to 6800. Just saying.

yeah, why wouldn't you use new TFS heads? They flow better than ported heads as cast, plus warranty, I'm not seeing a downside

Not seeing any down side of the TFS heads. Like I said I am still doing research. I don't think it's gonna be as easy as some may think. The Bullitt should dyno right around 225-235RWHP stock. That would mean we would have to pick up right around 100RWHP with heads, cams, intake porting and exhaust. We will see. The same dyno will be used for all runs as well as the same dyno operator, so the numbers should be legit.
