Default Resurfacing a flywheel

When you buy a new clutch, is it necessary to resurface the flywheel? Is there any advantages to doing it? Are there any disadvantages by not resurfacing it? I plan on having my friend put my clutch in and I thought about this. Let me know guys!

im pretty sure you need to either resurface or replace the flywheel...if your clutch needs replacing, chances are the flywheel isnt perfect either

Well, my TOB is going out, my clutch is fine honestly, I'm just replacing it because it is the original and I have close to 100k miles on my car. Might as well do it since I'll be in the general vicinity of the car.

While you are in there you mine as well do it all at once so you don't have to turn it around and do it again in 6 months don't ya think? Thats what I'll eventually do.

Ya, I have to agree, I'm not an avid tracker to justify the need for a new one, plus it's about a fraction cheaper to just have it resurfaced.....
