Default Anyone used bedliner on wheels?

The paint on my Bullitt GT wheels is beginning to show its age (thanks to country roads) and I am considering masking off the polished lip and painting them with bedliner. I have already done a wheel for another project (prototype vehicle in developement) with great success, and it looks VERY cool. More importantly though, it would be durable as hell and easy to clean.

Any thoughts?

Is that the same stuff as "rhino liner"? My buddy used it for the back of his pickup...

If that's the same stuff, DON'T DO IT! It leaves a textured finish that shouldn't be on a wheel, PERIOD.

Just curious....would that affect how true the wheel is? You know balance, etc. Different, that's for sure, not for me though.

I can't see why it would affect the wheel balance anymore than any other paint. As for the texture, it looks badass on the wheel I did a few nights ago; understated, and still glosses a bit. It's a very neat effect.

It won't effect the balance of the wheel lol. Unless you just put pounds of it on one spot of the wheel or something.

Badass is definitely not the word for something like bed liner on a wheel.

Why not sand the wheel and spray it with a spray can? Wheels shouldn't be textured. I'm all for original ideas, but this one is no good.

I just googled the idea of spraying bed liner on your wheels and the pictures of the wheels that i saw look very nice. They just look flat black. But once you get up close, you see the textured finish i would assume.. I'm against the textured finish of bed liner. I'm for spraying your wheels with spray paint though. Just prep em well.

that would be cool if you had a car that went off road a lot... you can claim its for protection... but I cant see it on a mustang... It would look like you dipped your wheel in a deep fryer lol

Bad thing is depending on what kind of bedliner you get it will fade really bad in the sun and eventually it will turn white.

DupliColor has series of wheel paints and a clear coat that holds up very well--most FLAPS stock it.

It's one of the few rattle-can coatings I've seen that has any real value.

I am going to try it out on some 2nd gen Camaro wheels before I spray my Bullitts with it, and I'll be sure to take lots of pics. Thanks for for the Dupli-Color link, Cliffy. I'm going to look into that, satin black looks tempting. I'm not a huge fan of overly shiny things, in case you guys haven't figured that out yet.

O/T: I added you on youtube, we have damn near the same car (except for all the mods). Love what you did with it!
