I am a little surprised the GT500 uses the same block and oil pump as a windsor GT.

Its a 5.4 Windsor block, same as a 4.6 Windsor other than the taller deck.

Oil pump is the same $50 FRPP pump as used on all the 4V since 96.

Only totally different block is from the GT car, thats an aluminum dry sump 5.4 block.

Its not rocket science here, I know people running straight 10W racing oil and people running 50W, the motors run just fine. The 10W makes more power at the drag strip and the 50W motors never tear up a cam bore. IMHO it don't really matter what oil you use as long as you keep the pan full.
