Why a 78mm? That's a huge throttle body for an N/A car. You'd be just fine with a 70mm.

the price tag on the BBK is what makes everyone get it. its about 250$ for the throttle body and plenum. my accufab TB alone for instance is over 200$ by itself and thats without a plenum (which is another 130-200+ depending on what kind you get).

yeah the 78 is way too big for n/a but the price is amazing haha. My tuner suggested a 75 for me when i told him my future plans which is with a blower with a ton of boost. I dont think itll really hurt you too much though.

nah won't hurt anything. on an NA 2 valve, the 75mm tb/plen actually makes you lose a couple peak horsepower, but you do gain like 5 throughout most of the mid rpm band. so while there may be little benefit now, its there if some sort of FI or head/cam work is in the future.

there was something in one of the stickies with a before and after dyno graph of a 75mm tb/plenum showing this if i remember correctly.

also, other things to consider before you continue the rant:

1) how much gas did you have, and how much did he have? one person on a full tank one on an empty tank can easily be a difference of 70lbs or more.

2) how much do you weight and how much does he weigh? if you are considerably bigger than him (not even trying to call you fat, if your a decent size person and hes skinny as hell for instance) there can easily be a different of 50lbs there too.

3) how much crap is in your car and how much is in his? this goes back up to ^, if he had far less gas, your a little bigger than him, and he has absolutely nothing in your car, but you have a full tank, a trunk full of crap, backpacks and whatever else on the back seat, then you can easily be 200lbs or more heavier than him. and a couple hundred pounds is actually a decent little difference.

and with your gearing, the 60 roll probably didnt help either. try racing him from a dig next time.
this is what im thinking

If you want to beat him by more cars start the race at a lower speed or continue it for longer. Other than that you are gonna need heads/cam, nitrous, forced induction to put serious lengths on him.

A pair of HiTech StageII cams would do wonders for your car!
Those and long tubes took me from 253rwhp to 301rwhp.

You're wasteing your money with bolt ons. Save your money for real upgrades like heads, cams, intake, blower or turbo. I made the mistake of trying to go the bolt on route and you really can't make any good power that way and it just costs alot.
