Default Cheapest way to piece together a vortech

Was thinking about doing a head and cam build on my car, end result with TF heads and a larger cam would only prob be around the 350rwhp range if im lucky.. So was thinking of doing a vortech if I could do so for about the same price.. I heard of some ppl buying the pieces seperate.. is that cheaper then buying a kit... reg Non IC is like 2,750ish..

^^^^ it really does. that is a very unrealistic quote these days....

OP the best way is to sit and wait for deals... I parted mine together over a period of 6 months... no lies. My headunit (v1 t-trim), intercooler+piping, 42lb injects, was about $1600. The entire setup was all in all about a 3k job... and that was because we did the install ourselves.

oh, and before you get it in your head its OK to run w/out a intercooler.... ITS NOT OK!!! YOU NEED AN INTERCOOLER!!! who cares if it works without one.... doesnt mean you should do it. You can run your car w/out fueses... but why would you risk ruining all those electronics?

what I was thinking just throwing in a CMS stage 3 blower cam in for now.. and keep searching for a vortech kit maybe used... wouldnt really be running alot of boost if i had no IC.. just lookin to get like 360-390wheels..
figured if i had a blower cam in it i wouldnt have to run much boost at all to get that much hp.. I have an auto and hear its not too safe to run over 400whp with stock internals..

well, put it this way:

I have stage 2 N/A cams in my car w/ a blower, and they are amazing... If you threw stage 3 blower cams in my car... I dont even know what I would expect power wise lol. If I am over 400 w/ 7.5 lbs of boost w/ reg stage 2 cams, im sure you would be prob at least 20 rwhp higher on a stage 3 blower cam.... you would think...
