Snake, with a 4r70w and 4.30s what rpm would you be at when you finish the 1/4? And what would that be at when you run nitrous?

I know how good Alan is over at dirtydog. I'm definitely not worried.

I was meaning to ask you how you decided to go with Alan at DD?

Im swapping a C4 i dont know if 4r70s are diffrent gear ratios...i thought about a 4r i have heard from people that have drove both the c4 shifts faster and is way lighter. I seen it last weekend (trans guy was waiting to have a part) and the thing is tiny as hell

From what ive been told on M1R from people with similar setups it should be close to redline. Thats why i need the 28" or i wont make it. I will have to see, if i think i can make it with a 27" i will try that on my next set of slicks.

As for n/a they said i would be fine on 26s so im assuming i will be up in the rpms also.

As for the dirty dog verter i wasent bashing them i just havent seen alot about them on M1R. I did most of questiong and reading on M1R seeing they had more 4v autos on that site

Mach1registry.com

Not to many people have autos on 4vs on svtperformance. Only ones that do are making big numbers 700+

So i knew it wouldnt be a close comparrison between my little 4v and monster 4vs

A car setup with a c4 will be faster since it is lighter and usually the cars running c4s are full on drag cars. Since this is a street car that sees track time, I opted for a 4r70w. I get to keep the OD and the trans is well capable of handling the power I will be throwing at it with minor modifications. The other reason ppl lke the c4 is because it has been around forever, so parts are readily available, made by many different companies, and are a lot cheaper to build and modify.

If this car was strictly track, I would have gone with a c4, full manual valve body with a t-brake and an 8" converter. However, I would like to go 60 on the freeway without revving to 3800 LOL

Well my car will only see the track a couple times a year. Otherwise its a street racing car. With a 28" tire i should be around ~2800 rpms. Fasest speed zone my car ever sees is a 50mph. Thats why i figured i dont need the OD plus you cant go WOT in OD. Ya it will never see the highway lol. But ive only had it on the highway maby 4x if that...the one major problem is my car has lts and a o/r x dumped. So at 3k its louder then alot of cars at redline lol

The other reason was my future plans are a 80mm turbo and a little shot. So the auto was no question the choice. I didnt want to do a trans 2x.

Trans builder said it will hold 750-1000hp so we will see lol

I just finished up my manual to auto swap and am getting all the bugs worked out with the tranny. tbird will also be doing a manual to auto swap.

My 1-2 shift was a little sloppy and sometimes not there so I called Alan at Dirty Dog and he told me to take out the 1-2 bottom accumulator spring. If I did that I will have good, hard shifts. Sounds good to me.
